We are delighted to invite you to the CMAS International Scientific Diver Course, taking place in the beautiful city of Peniche & Berlengas Marine Protected Area, Portugal from 29th April to 10th May 2026.
Organized by the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, Escola Superior de Turismo e Tecnologia do Mar in collaboration with CMAS Portugal, this course offers a unique opportunity for divers, researchers, and marine enthusiasts to enhance their skills in scientific diving while exploring the rich marine environments of Berlengas.

INFORMATION
All the participants should meet the Minimum Diving Certification and Academic Background criteria to register in the Scientific Diver course.
STUDENT REGISTRATION PRE-REQUISITES
To participate, students must:
- Hold a minimum autonomous diver level (CMAS Two Star Diver / Open Water Diver), equivalent to ISO 24801-2.
- Have logged at least 30 dives (recent diving experience required).
- Provide medical clearance for diving (not older than 12 months).
- Be 18 years or older.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
The candidate must submit an official declaration confirming that they are a member of the permanent staff, contract staff, research student body, technical staff, or a trainee/student of a nationally recognised research institution (see point 4.0 in the registration form).
REGISTRATION PROCESS
Submtit theSubmit the registration form with:
- Digital photo for your profile
- Diving Certifications
- Dive Logbook
- Academic / Scientific Background
The candidate should send the digital certifications attached to this form:
- Highest diver level (CMAS Two Star Diver to Divemaster);
- BLS (Optional)
- Underwater Navigation (Optional)
The candidate must submit an official declaration confirming that they are a member of the permanent staff, contract staff, research student body, technical staff, or a trainee/student of a nationally recognised research institution (see point 4.0 in the registration form).
The candidate must accept the terms and conditions of the course and grants permission to be included in videos and photographs taken during the scientific diving course, in accordance with the GDPR.
- After the confirmation of the registration, the candidate will receive all the payments details.
- The payment should be complete before the beginning of the course.
